Don’t you hate bad habits?

We’ve all got a few

We wish we didn’t, but Oh well we just do!

Mine is picking my nose

I know! It’s totally gross, but I’m addicted

I have to keep my nose clear or it drives me nuts

I don’t know how the rest of you can handle it.

I’ve tried Kleenex, but it only works some of the time

The rest of the time a good finger, with a 1-millimeter nail for scrapping…

That just seems to make the world a better place.

I know it sounds like a gross habit

But fortunately for me things are changing.

And nose picking is gaining in popularity; thanks to some high profile role modeling

We’ve all seen it on our TV screens, during a Football game.

The Camera pans down on some players at the sidelines.

Then there’s the close-up, they start talking about this one player

While he reaches up, blocks off one nostril and blows a snot rocket into the grass.

Usually followed by a good finger dig to finish the pick

And my “bad habit” gets some high profile advertising, coast to coast!

Yes folks I’m here to tell you there’s a new vogue on the horizon

Seriously!  Snot Rocketing has become the trademark of a 'real athlete'.

A badge of honour that says “Yes I’m that good” *blow a booger*

It’s true! Marathon runners, soccer players and a host of other sports all do it

They’re showing the world ...

Hey Don , I want to use this for my acting ensemble audition but my monologue needs to be from a published play or novel. I was hoping you could tell me that this monolouge is from a published play or novel? Thanks.

i would like to use this for my theater arts class in school

Dozz
That was good, gross but true. Your writing is real. Leaves the reader wondering if you are relating a true to life experience or describing the reader's behavior or observations they witnessed and are quite familiar with. Stephen King got nothing on you when it comes to the scares. lol Ladies can't handle this topic, that's for sure! Great writing as always. Learning a lot from ya Don, particularly....keeping your monologue like an honest, smooth, simplistic conversation. Dozz PS Have you considered compiling your stuff for a book. The job is literally done....???
